Product Description

Waukesha L7042GSI natural gas engine, serial C-14691/1, service rating 1,392 hp / 1,038 kW with an overload rating of 1,531 hp / 1,142 kW. Compression ratio 8:1, ignition timing 17 degrees BTDC, SAA 2003-174B, plate dated SEP 03. The governed speed field is blank on the plate, so no RPM is published. The photographs show a V12 gas engine with the manifolds and flywheel exposed, stored outdoors with rust on the exhaust side. Condition was not verified beyond the photographs. Waukesha built the L7042GSI at both 1,000 and 1,200 RPM with different outputs at each speed (the S5 is published at 1,500 bhp at 1,200 RPM and 1,250 bhp at 1,000 RPM; the S4 around 1,480 and 1,233 bhp). This unit's plate leaves GOVERNED SPEED RPM blank, so the speed is not published.
